Our expertise
Economic advisory.
GIA supports the assessment of infrastructure priorities through economic and market analysis. We help public institutions, sponsors and investors examine the rationale for a project, compare options and understand the assumptions behind expected benefits and costs.
Discuss your requirements ↗Questions we examine
What need is the project intended to address? Which options merit further development? How do demand, costs and expected benefits change under different assumptions?
Evidence and analysis
Define the appraisal question, review available data and apply methods appropriate to the agreed scope. Explain the treatment of uncertainty and the limits of the evidence.
Deliverables
An economic or market assessment, supporting analysis and a clear account of assumptions, sensitivities and implications for the decision.
Survey and data analysis
We analyse relevant survey and market data to support infrastructure studies. The method is selected around the research question, dataset and agreed scope. Findings document the sample, data quality, assumptions and limitations, so the reader can distinguish the evidence from its interpretation and understand where further research is needed.
Economic advisory: common questions
What questions can a market assessment address?
A market assessment can examine demand, supply, existing business models, financing constraints and potential interventions. The research questions and methods are agreed around the client’s decision, whether that concerns a project, an investment programme or the development of a sector.
How do you handle gaps in market data?
We make the evidence, assumptions and limitations explicit. The assessment distinguishes observed data from estimates and tests how uncertainty affects the findings. Where the evidence is insufficient for a decision, the report identifies the additional research or information required.
