Global Infrastructure Advisors is a specialist infrastructure advisory firm with offices in London, Riyadh and Casablanca, working across Africa, the Middle East and emerging markets. We support sponsors, development finance institutions and public sector counterparts across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and structuring through to financial close and post-close optimisation.

Our team has advised on projects representing over $11bn of infrastructure value across the energy, transport, digital and industrial sectors.

Advisory scope

Assignments span pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, project structuring, procurement strategy and contract negotiation, financial modelling and model review, debt and equity raising, and buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory. We act for project sponsors, independent power producers, EPC contractors, infrastructure funds and public authorities, and are retained directly by the World Bank Group and IFC on market assessment and programme design mandates.

Financial modelling standards

GIA is a signatory to the FAST Standard, the flexible, appropriate, structured and transparent specification for financial model construction. Models are built with inputs, calculations and outputs separated, one calculation per row applied consistently across the time series, and no hard-coded values embedded within calculation blocks. Deliverables include a documented input register, scenario and sensitivity functionality, and a model map that supports independent review. Where a model underpins a financing process, it is structured to withstand lender model audit.

Technical and environmental workstreams

Environmental and social scoping is undertaken against the IFC Performance Standards by default, and against the Equator Principles where the financing structure requires it. Substantive technical, legal, tax and environmental work is delivered by appropriately appointed specialists. Our role is to define the interface between workstreams, the information each requires, and the sequence in which their outputs feed the financial model and the transaction timetable.

How assignments are defined

At the outset we agree the decision the client needs to take, the evidence required to support it, the deliverables, the timetable and the allocation of responsibility between advisers. This is recorded in writing before work begins, and revisited when project circumstances change the question being asked.
